SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - St. Joe’s JR Konieczny is now the St. Joseph County boys all-time leading scorer with 1,976 career points.

Konieczny passed Riley’s Damezi Anderson with his performance at Regionals this past weekend.

Konieczny says it’s a real honor to be the county’s all-time leading scorer, but he’s not taking credit for it.

“It’s really a blessing,” Konieczny said. “All glory to God for that. I have to give a special thanks to all of these guys out here and all of my coaches for just believing in me, getting me the ball and trusting me for all of that. It means a lot.”

If the Notre Dame signee scores 24 points at Semi-State on Saturday, he’ll hit 2,000 points for his career.

Tip between St. Joe and Leo in Semi-State is at 4 PM at North Side Gym in Elkhart.
