TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WNDU) - Brian Kelly is smiling this St. Patrick’s Day.

That’s because four-star linebacker Josh Burnham from Traverse City Central High School announced his commitment to Notre Dame.

Burnham is rated as the second best recruit in the state of Michigan according to 247sports, and he’s pumped to be Irish even though he was raised cheering on the maize and blue.

“We grew up Michigan fans but Notre Dame came in,” Burnham said. “I knew, growing up a Michigan fan, that had always been my dream school but Notre Dame felt right in all aspects. They’ve been doing very well the last couple of years, and I am excited to bring my talents there.”

It only makes since Burnham is Irish. His birthday falls the day he committed - St. Patrick’s Day.

Burnham chose Notre Dame over Michigan and Wisconsin.
