SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - On Monday, NBC announced Drew Brees has joined their broadcasting team. He will call home Notre Dame football games in the fall.

But this fall won’t be the first time Brees visits Rock’s House. He played against the Irish for Purdue in Notre Dame Stadium in 1998 and 2000.

Brees says he can’t wait to get back to the Bend, but this time in the booth.

“I remember vividly my two experiences at Notre Dame,” Brees said. “Both games we should have won and somehow, someway, Touchdown Jesus got us in the end. I am extremely excited to be able to be in the booth with Mike Tirico broadcasting those Notre Dame games. There’s no question that is one of the epicenters of college football.”

Brees plans on being impartial during broadcasts - except for one game.

That’s when Purdue comes to South Bend on September 18 this fall. Brees says he has too much love for the Boilermakers.
