Dog with ‘kill’ shaved into its side recovers, finds forever home
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - Belvas, the dog dropped off at the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County with the word ‘kill’ shaved into his side, has fully recovered.
And in even better news, his foster family has officially made plans to adopt him.
“Thank you ALL for the love, prayers and support you’ve shown our precious little warrior. Situations like these make me proud to be such a vital part of our rescue team!” said Kalie Dirck with AWL in an email.
A good Samaritan found the fourth-month-old Belgian Malinois puppy wandering in the Claypool area, according to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
To make matters worse, upon arrival, Belvas was diagnosed with parvo, a deadly canine virus, as well as pneumonia.
A GoFundMe page was set up for medical expenses, and raised more than $7,500, far more than its $5,000 goal.
