SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Wednesday’s Notre Dame men’s basketball game against Georgia Tech has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases within the Yellow Jackets basketball program.

This is the sixth time a Notre Dame men’s basketball game has been postponed this season due to the coronavirus. None have been instances with the Irish testing positive.

Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey says his team will continue to be flexible. He says if that means playing more regional games against teams like Western Michigan or Valpo as opposed to ACC games, so be it.

“I don’t know what it means for the NCAA tournament, nor do I care right now,” Brey said. “It’s getting the experience for our kids as many games as possible. Maybe that’s as good as it gets. 20 games. But we are going to have to have this flexibility because, c’mon, it’s going to happen again and again. We’ve been pretty good. We’ve been able to stay clean but I am a firm believer in the law of averages.”

Notre Dame is still trying to schedule a game for Wednesday night.
