Campaign in Goshen highlights good in community
GOSHEN, Ind. (WNDU) - The Good of Goshen campaign is one that tells stories of things happening all throughout the city, and Eyedart Creative Studio is here to help make those stories come to life.
“People are really willing to come together, put aside their differences for the common good, and so these stories talk about that,” Eyedart Creative Studio Co-owner Gina Leichty said.
The campaign that started back in 2015 is made possible through several sponsors, and Monday evening Eyedart secured its sponsorship for 2021 from the city itself.
“The city of Goshen has been one of those strong partners throughout the years recognizing that it’s really important that Goshen tell its own story in its own way,” Leichty said.
Leichty says over the years they’ve told nearly 600 stories from one featuring a couple of neighbors giving food to those in need and another highlighting the city’s different bartenders.
“What we’re trying to focus on is people coming together for that greater good, so if you have an idea or a story that you think really illustrates that idea, we welcome that,” Leichty said.
Each year, the campaign has a different theme with last year’s being focused on helpers in the community.
“Some of the things that we’re looking forward to in 2021 is really that reopening and renewal after a period of closure,” Leichty said.
And while Leichty says the campaign is meant to inspire pride in those living in Goshen, it is also to show people outside the city limits what Goshen is made of.
“The common thread through all of these Good of Goshen stories is that people have this special affinity for this place that is Goshen,” Leichty said.
