SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Does racism affect a person’s brain?

Scientists now have some clues.

The story in today’s Medical Moment.

Racism is a problem that’s at the forefront of Americans’ minds lately.

According to new research, more than eight in ten Black Americans said they thought Blacks are treated less fairly than whites by the criminal justice system, in dealing with police, and in hiring, pay, and promotions.

But as Martie Salt reports, does dealing with discrimination also affect a person’s health?

The research team that performed the study on racism and the brain plans to conduct further experiments with a larger, more diverse group of participants.
