Officials plan to survey parts of northern Allegan County to determine whether a tornado or high winds caused damage in the area.
The National Weather Service says the survey is planned for Wednesday in southwestern Michigan following damage from storms that moved through the state Tuesday evening.
Two barns housing 40,000 turkeys at DeBoer Turkey Farm in Allegan County's Salem Township were toppled by the storms. The Grand Rapids Press reports about a dozen other sites in the county were damaged, including part of a roof that was blown off Windscapes Landscaping.
The weather service says the storms also produced heavy rain that flooded some low lying areas. More rain was expected through Thursday, bringing with it the risk of more flooding.
