A small West Texas town appears to have dodged a blazing wildfire as the wind direction shifted.
Now the 200 or so residents of Benjamin hope that that doesn't change Tuesday.
Fire officials in Knox County say a second wind shift could turn the fire back toward the town but winds speeds were forecast to drop.
On Monday, firefighters in other parts of the state worked to contain several large blazes out of 10 new ones that ignited Sunday. The large wildfires burned hundreds of square miles of rural Texas and destroyed dozens of homes since late last week. Texas got reinforcements from out of state as they struggled against some of the worst wildfire conditions in state history.
