Forecasters say parts of southern Michigan could get up to 8 inches of new snow by midday Friday as part of a storm moving across the region.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Thursday evening and Friday morning for some areas.
Forecasters say 4 to 7 inches are expected in parts of southeast Michigan, with up to 8 inches possible near the Ohio border. They're predicting 6 or more inches in parts of southwestern Michigan.
The storm comes after relatively light snow fell Thursday morning, creating slippery driving conditions. And utility crews were working to restore electricity service to thousands still without power following a storm that hit Sunday and Monday, dumping more than 11 inches of snow in parts of the state.
