Early morning snowfall Tuesday made for slick road conditions across Michiana.
Several slide-offs were reported on the Toll Road as well as in Elkhart County. It follows a day of serious accidents and even a fatal one in Cass County.
When heading out Tuesday, drivers will want to give themselves extra time to stop. When approaching an intersection be aware of other drivers. Even if you have a green light, the driver coming the other way may not be able to stop in time.
If you do start to slide, don't punch the brake. Instead, gently push down on it and turn in the direction you're sliding.
Also, remember to clear not only your windows, but also the top of your car and headlights of any snow so that you won't be a hazard to other drivers.
