With all the storms in the area during the past week, there's rarely been a better time to use a weather radio to get up-to-date alerts and warnings about what's coming our way.

Saturday morning, Storm Team 16's Mike Hoffman and Frank Waugh were out at Walgreen's locations across the area helping folks make sure their weather radios were programmed and ready to go.

It's an important tool every home should have, and it could save your life.

“You get instantaneous information. You get the weather type that's coming, where it's hitting and what the paths of it are. It's quick information,” said St. Joseph County Director of Emergency Management Bill Zimmerman.
