Officials in the southwest Missouri city of Joplin say they plan to release the names of the 125 people killed there by a massive tornado "as soon as we can."

Joplin City Manager Mark Rohr told reporters Wednesday evening that 125 people died in the storm, raising by three the toll of the nation's deadliest single tornado since 1950. He says more than 900 people were also injured.

Rohr also told reporters Wednesday evening that a third day of search and rescue efforts had not found any new survivors amid the debris, but the effort will continue.

Rohr said: "We're not going to give up. We'll continue to search as we develop the next phase in the process."
