Indiana counties deal with storm aftermath

Counties across much of central and southern Indiana have found themselves juggling with flood relief efforts and preparations for the expected weekend storm.

Four inches of rainfall and a winter's worth of snowmelt saturation from over the weekend put many cities and counties across the state on standstill as roads, intersections and bridges swelled with high water levels.

Counties are reporting a slow fall in river water levels but the decline may not last long if the predicted inch of rain falls on Friday and Saturday.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security says it's in the process of accepting damage reports from individuals affected by the floods and high winds. The federal assistance will only go toward covering uninsured property damage if approved.
