Drivers react to latest blast from Mother Nature

Many people saw the sky turn from clear to black while driving down the road.

People who saw the storm coming say it was like turning off a light switch the black skies rolled in that quickly.

While many people took cover from the intense wind and stubborn rainfall, others were in the midst of it and that included people who drive a truck for a living.

“It was like clear and all of a sudden it seemed like the bottom fell out,” Robert Barber said.

“It was very intense, I’d say on a scale from one to 10, it has to be a nine, an eight or nine,” Barber explained.

“It hit just like that, I mean wind and rain. I had to slow it down. It went from light to pitch dark,” Roy Hixson said.

Funnel clouds were reported near the intersection of Brick and Olive in St. Joseph County.
