A 27-square-mile wildfire in Southern California is 95 percent contained.

Ventura County Fire spokesman Bill Nash says crews hope to have the 17,500-acre blaze near Moorpark fully surrounded sometime Sunday. No homes have been lost.

Nash says Santa Ana winds, which fanned the flames for days, are no longer a factor.

The fire began Tuesday and burned through rugged land interspersed with orchards, farms and ranches.

Firefighting costs have topped $6 million.
