Icy Trees Cause Power Outages in Michigan

Several states are dealing with Mother Nature’s mess Monday.

Ice, freezing rain and snow are causing problems from Texas across the Midwest to Wisconsin and Illinois.

Here in Michiana however, we have dodged the bullet so far. Only a thin layer of ice was visible Monday morning.

Some tree branches went down and caused a few power outages in the area.

Indiana-Michigan Power tells us about 5000 people are without power in scattered areas around southwest Michigan.

Most of those outages are in St. Joseph and Van Buren County.
