Forecasters say Michigan can look forward to dry skies and seasonable temperatures at least through Sunday.
But streets and parking lots across the southern and western Lower Peninsula remain flooded following a couple of days of heavy rain.
Health officials in Ottawa and Ionia counties have warned residents to avoid the Grand River after untreated sewage and storm water overflowed into the river.
Similar discharges into nearby waterways occurred in Macomb and Oakland counties, in Grand Rapids and in Flushing in Genesee County.
At least two people were rescued from floodwaters.
