Weekend storms damaged the steeple of a 155-year-old Catholic church in New Albany, where high winds pushed the steeple about 15 degrees out of alignment.
Contractors started removing sections of the steeple Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Church administrator Rev. Henry Tully says workers will restore damaged sections and replace them.
Another New Albany church lost its steeple in the storm.
Elder Bill Densford with Charlestown Road Church of Christ says the church's steeple was blown over in the storm. He says there was no other damage to the 5-year-old building.
