Officials have ordered residents in Daviess County north of Maysville to evacuate after floodwaters overtopped a levee last night.
They're being evacuated to a school in Washington, the Daviess County seat.
A Daviess County sheriff's dispatcher estimates as many as 300 people in the Maysville area could be affected.
Maysville is about 18 miles from Elnora, where most residents already have evacuated. Marines and Indiana National Guard soldiers put up sandbags and concrete barriers there to hold back the river.
Now, the state is shifting its attention to preventive measures such as sandbagging downstream along the White and Wabash rivers, at towns such as Hazleton, Petersburg and New Harmony.
