Strong storms batter the country

Strong thunderstorms in southern and central Ohio have produced power outages, lightning fires and flooding across the region.

At least two injures were reported and the storms are still coming. Surging floodwaters washed the pavement off some roads and left debris and standing water on others in southern Ohio's Ross County.

Funnel clouds and possible tornados have been spotted in a number of states.

Last night, storms also sprouted up in Colorado, Iowa, and Nebraska.

Outside the nation's capital, a woman was killed when storms blew a tree down on top of her car.

A death in Indiana and another in West Virginia are also blamed on the storms. Both involved drivers and high water.
