Central Indiana is starting to clean up from a second bout of severe weather in the past few days, although more bad weather may be on the way.

More storms moved into the state yesterday afternoon, downing trees and power lines and causing more flooding in some areas. The wave of thunderstorms that began Tuesday caused a tornado that skipped over National Guard barracks at Camp Atterbury along with widespread flash flooding. Five inches of rain was reported overnight in some areas.

One woman died in Henry County when she drove her car into rushing floodwaters north of New Castle yesterday morning.

Another woman was critically injured Tuesday when a tornado destroyed her home in Moscow, a community of fewer than 20 homes in Rush County. Sixty-six-year-old Diane Hester was impaled in the chest by a tree limb when the tornado.

The storms knocked out electricity to more than 50,000 homes and businesses in central and southern Indiana.
