Authorities now say at least 11 traffic deaths are blamed on a weather system that roared through the Midwest and is now hitting the Northeast.

Winter storm warnings are in effect for Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and parts of New York state. Parts of Michigan also are in the grips of wintry conditions.

Hundreds of flights into the New York City area's three main airports were delayed Sunday due to wind and Ice. Chicago's O'Hare also has had delays and cancellations.

Utility companies in Illinois say the lights are back on for most of the nearly 140,000 customers who lost electricity Saturday as ice weighed down power lines. The ice also blacked out more than 14,000 customers around Iowa.
