Tropical Storm Noel has been dumping heavy rains on Haiti, a nation still recovering from deadly flooding earlier this month.
Noel is expected to drop as much as 20 inches of rain over Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The 14th named storm of the Atlantic season has sustained winds of about 45 miles per hour.
It's then expected to strike a path east of Cuba toward the Bahamas.
Forecasters say the storm may lose some strength over land, but could become a hurricane once it heads back over the Atlantic.
Tropical storm warnings have been issued for the entire coast of Haiti, the southeastern Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
A tropical storm warning and hurricane watch have also been issued for southeastern parts of Cuba, including the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay.
