Some schools are delaying the start of classes in Indiana Wednesday, as a dense fog advisory is in effect for the area.

The National Weather Service says visibility is less than a quarter-mile in some places. The advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Eastern time.

Forecasters also say severe weather could move through Indiana on Thursday. The Weather Service says there's a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms.

The strongest storms are expected in the afternoon and evening. Forecasters say damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes are possible.
