Time has run out for tourists trying to flee Bermuda ahead of Hurricane Igor.

Tourists lined up to catch the last flights off the island. The last plane to leave was a British Airways flight bound for London, which departed three hours earlier than usual.

Tropical-storm-force winds are forecast to start battering the island tonight. The hurricane is expected to pass directly overhead or nearby late Sunday or early Monday, according to the U.S.
National Hurricane Center in Miami.

Around midday, Igor had maximum sustained winds of 100 mph and was located about 325 miles south of Bermuda. Hurricane-force winds extended about 90 miles from the storm's center.

Hotel cancellations were reported across Bermuda.

As for the locals, they've been stocking up on supplies.
