Lest We Forget's WWII & Vietnam Re-enactment & Korean Tribute

Lest We Forget's sixth tribute to veterarns at the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport brings the return of some popular past events return, plus some additions! While we will not have WWII beach landings, we will see more WWII battles at the airport. The airport road will be lined with flags. Events include Landing Craft Rides to the public at Tiscornia Beach on Friday ($10, free for WWII veterans and children 17 and under), Military Vehicle, Motorcycle and Classic Car Parade through Benton Harbor and St. Joseph. SATURDAY activities: WWII re-enactments, a Vietnam re-enactment complete with two Huey helicopters (medevac and assault), troops, and military vehicles. During the event there will be a Vietnam compound set up. Meals will be provided by the Experimental Aircraft Association. Exciting Flame-throwing demonstrations will be conducted Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy Parachute Drops by the Mad Dog Parachute team and a Demonstration by Johnny Mayo, Vietnam Dog Handler and his trained dogs. Presentations by Medal of Honor recipients and other distinguished guests. A Hangar Dance features The Moonlighters with a WWII fashion show during intermission. Military dioramas and military history, USO history display, Lest We Forget merchandise and a display of WWII fashions. The 20th Century at War Museum displays an interactive display of military field equipment featuring vehicles, signal and other military equipment. Military aircraft from WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Two Vietnam Hueys will provide rides to members, plus a Korean Bell helicopter and other aircraft will be onsite. Sunday's Church service begins the day's activities.
