111 Sunnybrook Ct, South Bend, Indiana 46637– Center for Hospice Care needs volunteers in St. Joseph and La Port counties. The next Volunteer Training (15 total hours) is in July and August. No previous health care experience is necessary. What is your passion? Volunteers are needed for:
• Patient Care
• Companionship
• Bereavement Callers
• Office Support
• Massage Therapists
• Veteran to Veteran
• Hair Stylists
• Barbers
Training focuses on the hospice philosophy, communication skills, spirituality, family dynamics, patient care, and bereavement. Following training, volunteers may assist patients and families with respite, transportation, laundry, errands, companionship, or bereavement. Volunteers will serve patients in their homes, in nursing homes, or may serve in office or clerical roles. In addition, individuals with licensure/certification in massage therapy, hair styling or notary public are also needed. Scheduling for volunteers is flexible.
Training dates are:
July 24 and 26, from 9:00am-2:30pm. Located at 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy, Mishawaka.
August 1, from 10:00am-3:30pm. Located at 111 Sunnybrook Ct, South Bend.

Wings of Freedom Tour 2012

Porter County Regional Airport, Valparaiso, INThree of the most famous WWII bomber and fighter aircraft will be visiting the Porter County Regional Airport July 30 to August 1 as part of the “Wings of Freedom Tour.” Tour the beautifully restored aircraft for $12 for adults, $6 for children and free for WWII veterans. Take to the skies yourself in an ultimate 30-minute flight experience aboard the B-17 Flying Fortress or B-24 Liberator for $425. Get some “stick time” in the world’s only Dual Control P-51C Mustang for $2200 for a half hour and $3200 for a full hour. Tours will take place July 30 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM; July 31 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; and August 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
