The Humane Society of Elkhart County Volunteer Association will meet Tuesday, June 4, at 6:30 pm in the Education Room of the Humane Shelter, 54687 County Road 19, Bristol.
Any adult interested in volunteering at the Shelter or with various fundraising projects, Pet Showcase events or educational programs is invited to attend this meeting.

Reins of Life holding a New Volunteer Training

Reins of Life will conduct a new volunteer training on Thurs., Aug 16, from 5:30 - 9p.m. If you like horses, the outdoors and helping others ~ this may become your new favorite activity! Volunteers help our riders groom & tack their horses. Then they assist riders with the arena activities. Minimum age is 13y/o. Horse experience is not required, but helpful. Center For Hospice Care Summer Volunteer Training

Center for Hospice Care
Center for Hospice Care needs volunteers in St. Joseph and La Port counties. The next Volunteer Training (15 total hours) is in July and August. No previous health care experience is necessary. What is your passion? Volunteers are needed for:
• Patient Care
• Companionship
• Bereavement Callers
• Office Support
• Massage Therapists
• Veteran to Veteran
• Hair Stylists
• Barbers
Training focuses on the hospice philosophy, communication skills, spirituality, family dynamics, patient care, and bereavement. Following training, volunteers may assist patients and families with respite, transportation, laundry, errands, companionship, or bereavement. Volunteers will serve patients in their homes, in nursing homes, or may serve in office or clerical roles. In addition, individuals with licensure/certification in massage therapy, hair styling or notary public are also needed. Scheduling for volunteers is flexible.
Training dates are:
July 24 and 26, from 9:00am-2:30pm at 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy, Mishawaka.
August 1, from 10:00am-3:30pm at 111 Sunnybrook Ct, South Bend.
