Craft Brew and Wine Festival

FOP, 531 N. State Street, Niles, MI 49120
The First Annual Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce Craft Brew & Wine Fest will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 at the FOP, 531 N. State in Niles, MI 49120. The event will be presented by Southwestern Michigan College, Flagship Sponsor (all sponsors listed below), and held from 3 pm to 9 pm in downtown Niles, with hundreds of craft brews and wines available. There will also be food vendors, live music, and opportunities to meet the breweries' representatives and learn about craft beer and wine.
Featuring Slim Gypsy Baggage from 6pm to 9 pm (like them on Facebook), homegrown blends of Soulful, Spirited, Roots Rock with Swinging HipHop Beats and a Vibrant Sound ...a little bit of this and a lot of that!! From the SW coast of MI, SGB originally came to be when performing musicians, Morgan Ingle(vocal/rhythm guitar) and Matt Smith(vocal/bass) were introduced to Cam Mammina(lead guitar). The musical combination was a magical blend that had to be explored. In time, came the addition of Scott Christie(drums), who provides the foundational beats for SGB. Friendships are what have rooted this band together and brought them together in the first place as well as the common interest in music. Though the individuals that make up this outfit are randomly different and come from varied backgrounds in extensive musical studies, it is the culmination of the group as a whole that creates their creative and vibrant sound.

Fiddler on the Roof

Wagon Wheel Theatre - 2515 East Center Street, Warsaw, IN
Welcome back to Fiddler on the Roof, last seen on the Wagon Wheel stage in 1990! This show has become the 15th longest running Broadway musical with a total –in the original run—of 3,242 performances. Considered a classic musical, it depicts the struggle of families who attempt to survive in a hostile world, still holding true to their traditions. Recognizing that all cultures are challenged by change, this story is set in a Jewish village, Anatevka, Russia in 1905. The main characters are Tevye, the milkman, Golde, his wife, and their five daughters. Directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins, Fiddler won 10 Tony awards in 1964, including Best Musical. Songs include “Tradition”, “Matchmaker, Matchmaker”, “If I Were a Rich Man”, and “Sunrise, Sunset”.

Gypsy

Wagon Wheel Theatre - 2515 East Center Street, Warsaw, IN
Set in the 1920s, the dying years of vaudeville, Gypsy is the story of Rose, an aggressive and demanding stage mother, and her two daughters. Aspiring to be a star herself, she manages to alienate those around her, pushing the girls to perform. Along with the extremely talented collaboration that created this show, Ethel Merman performed as Rose for the entire Broadway run of 702 performances. A film was made in 1962 with Rosalind Russell as mother Rose, and Natalie Wood appearing as stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. Familiar songs include “Let Me Entertain You” and “Everything’s Coming Up Roses”.

Catch Me If You Can

Wagon Wheel Theatre - 2515 East Center Street, Warsaw, IN
Based on the hit DreamWorks film and the incredible true story that inspired it, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is the high-flying, splashy musical that tells the story of Frank W. Abagnale, Jr., a teenager who runs away from home in search of the glamorous life. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer - living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. But when Frank's lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, Carl chases Frank to the end...and finds something he never expected.

The musical production began touring nationally in the fall of 2012 with Stephen Anthony, a recent Wagon Wheel alum, in the starring role.

This delightfully entertaining musical has been created by a Tony Award®-winning "dream team," with a book by Terrence McNally (THE FULL MONTY and RAGTIME), and a swinging score by Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman (HAIRSPRAY).
