Annual "Frosty Moon” Event Features Pioneer & Native American Skills

Local historians and enthusiasts invite the public to attend the third annual “Frosty Moon” event at Woodlawn Nature Center on Saturday November 2nd from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. They will be reenacting and demonstrating folkways of America from 1770 to 1870.
Crafts that will be featured include spinning thread; making arrowheads, spear points, and knives out of stone, and decorative work using natural materials such as porcupine quills. There will hands-on activities for the children. There is no entrance fee for this event.
This will also be the last chance to see “The Hunt” exhibit, which has been extended by popular demand. Most of “The Hunt” will be make way for “The Fossils of the Michigan Basin” which will have its grand opening on November 9th.
