South Bend City Cemetery Preservation Meeting

Preservation efforts for South Bend city Cemetery will be detailed at 7 p.m. April 22 in Christ the King Lutheran Church. The public not only will learn about the plans but also how to help. The cemetery, founded in 1832, is South Bend’s oldest. The South Bend Common Council recently passed a resolution for the establishment of a five year action plan to restore and preserve the 21.35 acre historic site. Sponsored by Twigs from the Tree of Life Genealogy Group, the discussion will be in the education wing of the church. Enter through the single door in back.

From our beginning, we have sought to add quality to the lives of older adults by supporting their right to live independently for as long as possible.

We have various programs that utilize volunteers, such as Meals on Wheels and our advocacy programs. We also have a Volunteer Department that matches volunteers with client-specific needs, such as yard work and house cleaning.
