Center for History, Raclin Gallery of Notre Dame History
In 1865, just 23 years after the University of Notre Dame was founded, the school established science as a course of study. Over the last 150 years, the field has grown into a major educational and research enterprise at the school. Today, Notre Dame’s College of Science offers courses in applied mathematics and statistics, biological science, chemistry and biochemistry, mathematics, and physics. Research efforts of the nearly 2,500 faculty and students in Notre Dame’s College of Science achieve significant results. Through such artifacts as early lab equipment, molecule models, and fossils, the exhibit captures all the intrigue and discovery of science, as well as the moments of research that have impacted the country, and indeed, the world.

An Operatic Quartet presented by the Bethel College Operatic Irregulars

Date(s): 9/5/2014, 9/6/2014

September 5 & 6, 2014, at 7:30 pm

Bethel College, Everest - Rohrer Fine Arts Auditorium, Mishawaka, IN
The Bethel College Operatic Irregulars present An Operatic Quartet. Four mini-operas, all in English, totaling about 90 minutes of fast-paced comedy.
The opener is “Little Harlequinade” by Antonio Salieri. This micro-opera, is only eight minutes long, it presents and solves a love triangle.
Next follows “Fortune's Favorites,” a whirlwind courtship, by American Seymour Barab, who based his work on a very short story by the author Saki.
“The Telephone” follows, a 1940s duet-opera by Italian-American Gian-Carlo Menotti. It tells of a proposal—or, rather, an attempted proposal.
The final work, and the only opera with a cast numbering more than three, is “Signor Deluso,” by American Thomas Pasatieri, based on a hilarious, confusing, fast-paced comedy by the French master Molière.

Craig Morgan

Date(s): 9/26/2014

Sept. 26, 2014 at 6 pm & 9:30 pm

Wagon Wheel Theatre, 2515 E Center Street, Warsaw 46580
There is no one like him. Craig Morgan's resume is one of the most varied and impressive on earth---soldier,sheriff's deputy, EMT, adventurer, TV host, motocross racer, outdoors man, farmer, family man.And then there is the career that ties it all together.
"Music is like a center for all those things," says the man known as one of country's best singers and songwriters since "Almost Home" put him on the map in 2002.
So it's no surprise that his new Black River Entertianment CD The Journey (Livin' Hits), which includes eight of his top hits and four powerful new tracks, is as much autobiography as musical statement.

Craig's catalog includes working class anthems like "Redneck Yacht Club", International Harvester" and "More Trucks Than Cars"; real-life songs like "Tough" and "This Ole Boy"; and one that hits on pretty much every theme Craig brings to the table--"Little Bit of Life." Then there is "That's What I Love About Sunday," a six-week chart topper whose love of American life in the biggest and smallest senses made it the most-played song in 2005; "Wake Up Lovin' You" and many more.

Smooth Jazz with Bryan Lubeck

Friday, September 19 @ 8:00pm (Eastern)

The Homestead 1835, 33771 Chicago Trail, New Carlisle, Indiana 46552
Enjoy a night of Spanish guitar and urban rhythms at the unique setting of this beautifully restored historic wood barn at The Homestead 1835, featuring Smooth Jazz with Bryan Lubeck and a live six-piece ensemble.
Bryan Lubeck was known as "one of the top unknown artists" in the industry until he released Tuscan Sky in 2013 and spent 16 weeks on the Smooth Jazz radio charts top 40. Two songs from the album were ranked in the top 100 of Smooth Jazz for 2013. The Goshen native describes his style as “Spanish guitar and urban grooves, a combination of layers.
When I play live I have a six piece band, me on guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboardist, bass player, drummer and a Latin drummer, and a sax player. It’s not a recital. We crank out some cool high-strumming stuff and full-band versions of classical guitar with funk, and we try to deliver an experience.”
Tickets are $15.
