The South Bend Civic Theater (403 N. Main Street)
Registration for SBCT’s Summer Camps is going on now! You can register online or by phone Mon-Fri, 12-6pm at 234-1112.
Here are some of the fun things campers will be doing this summer:
Mini-Musical Performance Camps (K-2nd Grade)
We will choose from two favorite and beloved children’s classic tales. Together the students will choose pieces of the story they want to re-tell and songs they feel fit into the beginning, middle and end of the musical.
Treasure Trunk (K-2nd Grades)
We will spark our imagination each day with a new treasure trunk discovery! Reach into our oversized trunk of wonder and pull out a pirate sword, or even a princess’s crown. Then act out a story and make a piece of your own treasure to take home or use in our daily scene!
Magic Treehouse (K-2nd Grades)
Join Annie and Jack on a fun filled adventure to new lands! Acting, singing and dancing brings the story you love to life on stage! Along with making props and choosing costumes for our play we will choreograph and rehearse our own dance!
Myths & Adventure (2nd-3rd Grades)
Ever wish you could be the hero of your own adventure? In this week you not only learn about some of the greatest Greek gods, goddesses and heroes, you get to be them! Design props and choose your costumes! From start to finish you get to create your own myth!
Creative Musical Theatre Performance Camp (3rd-5th Grades)
Rehearse and perform an original musical this summer in this special two week performance camp! The Noble Gnarble is a compelling story set in a fantastic undersea world filled with creative song and dance.
Time Travel Musical Theatre Performance Camp (5th-8th Grades)
This unique camp combines hands-on history with full-on musical theatre. Campers will explore the lives of Midwest kids during the 1930’s at South Bend’s Center for History, then bring their discoveries to life as they act, sing and dance in a new musical revue, featuring songs from Annie, Les Miserables, Oliver and others.
Teen Filmmakers Camp (8th- 12th Grades & 6th and 7th Grades by permission)
In this engaging, hands-on introductory course, aspiring filmmakers begin their journey to the silver screen by learning the craft of cinematic story-telling . Using friendly technology, campers will learn to write, story-board, scout for locations, cast actors & actresses, produce, direct, shoot, and edit their movie for a live screening with family & friends at the end of the session.
Broadway Boot Camp (6th-12th Grades—-by permission, recommendation or audition)
Become a true “triple threat”—dance and act, and sing. South Bend Civic Theatre and Southold Dance Theatre join forces to offer a week of intense training, performance experience, and serious fun for committed young actors, singers, and dancers.
