Goodwill’s Extreme Closet Makeover Community Service Project starts Monday, January 6th and runs through Friday, February 7th. Students in South Bend, Mishawaka and Penn-Harris-Madison schools are eligible to participate and will receive tickets to distribute to friends and family. Those who donate gently used items to Goodwill Collection Centers turn in the tickets so that their student’s school will receive credit for participation. Donating reusable items is good for the environment and the community. Items sold in Goodwill’s Retail Stores provide the necessary funds for job training and placement services for people with barriers to employment.

"Dance for the Cure" a benefit dance for the American Cancer Society
Dan O'Day Dance Studio and Rose Ballroom, 107 East First St. in historic downtown Mishawaka, Indiana
"Dance for the Cure" sponsored by the Dan O'Day Dance Studio. Tickets are available in advance or at the door for a minimum of $25.00 (100% deductible). Checks only please made payable to the American Cancer Society. Light refreshments will be served and there will be dance demonstrations throughout the evening. The Hope Banghart Benefit

On Saturday, June 23rd Hope was diagnose with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). The cancer has spread throughout her blood stream and taken over her bone marrow. She will have 3 months chemo treatments back to back and a bone marrow transplant. AML is a rarer form of childhood leukemia. She is at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis.

Katie is a music education major who underwent spinal fusion surgery in her senior year of high school. Her parents were recipients of RMHC's hospitality and would like to help give back to this worthy organization.
Help sick children and their families find strength in numbers. The concert is free, but donations are welcome. Katie and others will be playing several familiar favorites from television and movie theme songs.

The husband of an employee at TCU at the Concord Service Center, underwent open heart surgery to correct an aneurism. The cost of the dinner will be $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. There will be entertainment of two comedians, a band, a singer, and a magician for the children. All ages are welcome, come have some fun!

Do you love jewelry and have a heart for helping people? Come learn about and support Safe Shelter, the domestic violence shelter and service provider for Berrien County. There will be a Silpada jewelry representative present for you to purchase beautiful silver jewelry. There will also be raffles and other vendors present. All proceeds from the event will benefit the women and children served each day at Safe Shelter. A special thanks to Contours Express, the Better Idea in Women's Gyms, for hosting the event.

Music and Auctions to benefit research for United Cancer Services

Moose Lodge on CR 6 in Elkhart
Local sorority Beta Alpha Chi is hosting an evening of singing, dancing and bidding to benefit the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County and the "Go Red" campaign for women's heart disease research.
This annual fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 15th from 6-11:30pm at the Moose Lodge on CR 6 in Elkhart.
The event begins with karaoke from 6 until 8 followed by dancing to live music from the band Morgan's Bluff and featuring the band LiveWire. Silent auctions of donated items including jewelry, artwork, wine baskets and certificates for local goods and services will be held throughout the evening. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Admission is $5.00 which includes entry into a drawing for the door prize.
