The Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association is betting people visiting the city will be checking their smart phones for directions.
And when they do, they can download a new application to help them find their way around.
Indianapolis now has its own app: Visit Indy, joining other cities such as Denver and Miami that also have apps.
The Indianapolis Star reports the free app will soon be available for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the Google Android operating system. It provides tips on which restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues are closest to the user's location.
