Verizon Wireless-new plan

Verizon Wireless is getting in on the free calling action. The company is set to announce Thursday that subscribers with certain plans will be able to pick five or 10 phone numbers they can call for free. There's no added charge for the service and the calls won't use up a subscriber's minutes.

It copies a popular feature called "My Circle" at Alltel. That's a smaller carrier Verizon Wireless bought last month. T-Mobile has a similar feature called "myFaves."

Verizon says single-line plans starting at $60 per month will get five free numbers. Family plans starting at $90 per month for two lines will get ten free numbers. Verizon Wireless is calling the feature "Friends & Family" and will be available starting Sunday.
