Weezer's "Pork and Beans" video debuted on YouTube in May and featured YouTube stars like Tay Zonday of "Chocolate Rain" and Miss Teen USA 2007 South Carolina. YouTube says it generated 15.5 million clicks.
The group Improv Everywhere also scored big with YouTube users. Their "Frozen Grand Central" prank, featuring 200 people standing still in Grand Central Station, was one of the year's most popular as well.
YouTube pats itself on the back for the best YouTube April Fool's Day prank: rigging every feature video to play "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley instead.
