Think of it as iTunes for the high-brow set.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra has launched a download service that lets music fans buy new and historical recordings through its Web site.
The service currently has 179 previously released by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra. And early next year, more material will be made available.
The tracks are available in both MP3 and HD Surround formats.
