Louisville is cashing in on the popularity of the Super Bowl.
Jim Wood, president and CEO of the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau, estimates several hundred people have booked rooms in Louisville as hotels filled up in Indianapolis and along Interstate 65 south toward Kentucky.
They are making the 1 1/2-hour drive to Indianapolis to attend festivities and the game.
Wood said Friday those visitors will spend tens of thousands of dollars in Louisville on their rooms, meals and visits to attractions.
Wood says most of the Louisville visitors are fans of the New England Patriots or New York Giants.
Rita Reedy, a marketing director for the company that owns the Galt House and Crowne Plaza in Louisville, says both hotels have drawn fans who are attending Sunday's big game.
