Some of Indiana's regional airports are putting out their welcome mats in hopes of picking up some extra business next month when Indianapolis hosts the Super Bowl.
The Indianapolis Super Bowl host committee lists 17 regional airports as additional landing sites outside of the Indianapolis area.
The Tribune-Star reports that Terre Haute International Airport-Hulman Field is installing new floor tile, renovating bathrooms and doing other work to spruce up the airport about 70 miles west of Indianapolis in anticipation of getting Super Bowl visitors.
Airport Director Dennis Wiss says the airport has Indiana's fourth-longest runway. He says officials don't know how many additional aircraft such as corporate jets will land there during the days leading up to the Super Bowl but they're expecting some boost.
