Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, a small prop-plane from Northern Indiana made an emergency landing on Highway 13, near the Greene and Polk County line.

During its final approach to a Springfield, Mo. airport, the pilot reported his plane ran out of gas.

The four people on board told troopers the pilot managed to maneuver around power lines and moving cars before setting down the plane.

"At first, we thought maybe he was kidding. We were hoping he might be right? He actually stayed very calm and he did a great job and we're all very grateful," said Virginia Olson, a passenger of the plane.

The Cessna aircraft blocked traffic for hours after it was forced to land.

No one on board or in any car was injured. Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol say the plane is registered out of Osceola, Indiana.

The FAA is looking into the incident.
