Cindi is a native of St. Louis, MO and has always had a passion for meteorology, geology, and astronomy. Her undergraduate years were spent at Southwest Missouri State University, where she earned a B.S. in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Science.
Later, she completed classes to fulfill the requirements for her High School Earth Science Certification through the State of Missouri.
Cindi's graduate work was completed at the University of Missouri in Columbia and in May of 1999, she received a Masters Degree in Atmospheric Science. In 2001, Cindi was granted the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Cindi worked as a weekend weather anchor for KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO while in graduate school, and provided radio forecasts for several years for KBIA-FM, an NPR affiliate. After graduation, she moved on to be the On-Air Meteorologist for the nationally syndicated agriculture news program, AgDay, which is produced here at WNDU. Cindi would occasionally fill in for the local newscasts for WNDU and for CLTV in Chicago, and joined the WNDU team full-time in July 2003.
She enjoys the outdoors, and loves to watch the skies both day and night. Cindi and her husband Rick often go hiking. Together, they love good food, good movies, and good fun.
