Gabby Gonzalez joined Newscenter 16 in June 2011 as a general assignment reporter. Her stories are featured on WNDU's 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. newscasts throughout the week. You can also watch her live reports on 16 Saturday Morning.
Gabby got her start in TV news at WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kansas. She split her time between reporting and producing the top-rated 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
Gabby also had the chance to work in her hometown while interning for The Miami Herald. During her time at the Herald, she worked on the video team that added live-streaming and visual components to major Miami stories. She closely covered the Miami Heat’s much talked about roster update that included Lebron James and Chris Bosh. She conducted an exclusive one-on-one interview with Dwyane Wade in the aftermath of the big “decision.”
Gabby graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, Illinois. While at Medill, Gabby served as News Director of the award-winning Northwestern News Network. She co-founded Northwestern’s first complete Spanish newscast.
When she is not reporting out in the field, Gabby loves to go on the hunt for unique activities in Michiana -- whether it’s trying out a new restaurant or venturing to local shops. If you have any suggestions, let her know!
