Notre Dame has to run a tight offense in order to beat Alabama in Monday night’s championship game, and the Tide has been preparing for Irish quarterback Everett Golson. No one knows the pressure on Golson better than former ND quarterback Tony Rice.
In 1988 Tony Rice successfully led Notre Dame to its last National Championship title at the Fiesta Bowl.
Rice may be one of the most charismatic players to have ever played for the Irish, he took control of the field in ’88 and knows what it takes to win it all.
”You know work pays off,” said Rice, “The harder you work in practice you want to take it to another level. And this is the time where you only have one shot and everyone is shooting at you. You need to find a way to avoid that and make sure that you still contending for winning the national championship.”
