A Fighting Irish and MIshawaka Cavemen fan will get to see both of his favorite teams play in big games Saturday.
On the line for the cavemen is a state title game against Cathedral.
And, the Fighting Irish will face USC for a chance to play in the BCS championship.
"It will be one of the best days of the year [Saturday], when both of my teams are playing for something that big," said Mishawaka resident Robert Fagan.
About 70 years ago, Fagan was a second string player for Mishawaka High School, but says his time with the team made him feel like first.
"When I went to high school, they did so much for me to let me know that I wasn't as dumb as I thought I was," Fagan said. "And, they got me to study. And, I just love them for that."
Fagan's love for the Cavemen has only grown over the past several decades.
So much so that the team awarded him with a signed helmet earlier this season for being their number one fan.
"I just about cried," he said.
Fagan says he's confident both teams can come out on top Saturday if they put their hearts into the game.
So, what if they do?
"It'll be like my great granddaughter giving me a baby," he said.
