Leap of Faith! Brey, Tim Brown rally the troops at ND-USC Pep Rally

The weekend festivities started Friday as hundreds flocked to the Irish Green for the Notre Dame Football Pep Rally!

They all came to get an up close and personal look at the Fighting Irish before they face-off against USC Saturday night, for the first game under the lights in nearly 20 years!

They had a Trojan Horse blowing smoke!

Even Mike Brey had some fun at the rally as he dove into the crowd!

The team wants to make sure that the energy and excitement of Friday translates into a rowdy crowd come Saturday night.

1987 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown was also on hand pumping up the crowd. The former Oakland Raider reminded everyone that he lived in California for a long time and knows there is one thing California fans don't like to hear--- "We're are ND."

Manti Te'o, who almost went to USC, and Cierre Wood were named the gameday captains.

NewsCenter 16 will have full coverage from the tailgate lots bright and early Saturday on 16 Saturday morning. Our coverage ramps up from the Stadium on NewsCenter 16 at 6. Countdown to Kickoff takes the reigns at 6:30, leading you up to Notre Dame and USC in the first night game at Notre Dame Stadium in 21 years.

It's all on Channel 16.
