It's November and that means Brian Kelly's most successful time of year.
The Notre Dame coach has not lost a game in the month of November since 2007. Last year, he was 3-0 as the Irish head coach in the final month of the regular season.
It's no coincidence that Kelly's teams succeed best at the end of the season.
"Just the way that we prepare in the off-season, we build up to this point," captain and safety Harrison Smith explains. "We don't try and peek in the summer or right when the season starts. We want to peek in November."
"One of our big themes here is finishing strong and maintaining consistency," says quarterback Tommy Rees, who made his first career start in the month of November one year ago when the Irish defeated Utah.
"Last year finishing strong, shows us what we need to do and how we need to prepare to face teams deep in the year when guys are banged up. We have a great group and we're ready to push through."
Notre Dame is 5-3 on the season. They look to improve to 1-0 in November Saturday night at 8pm at Wake Forest.
