Notre Dame guaranteed to have Super Bowl champion

Notre Dame is guaranteed to have one of its alums hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. The Irish have one player on each of the four teams left standing.

Defensive lineman Justin Tuck and the Giants took out former Irish running back Ryan Grant and the Packers Sunday afternoon to advance to the NFC Championship game.

The Giants will face the 49ers, which feature rookie defensive lineman Ian Williams. Williams, projected to be a 3rd to 5th round pick in the NFL Draft, was shocked last April when he wasn't selected at all through seven rounds. So he's had quite the first year in the NFL, signing with the Niners as a free agent and now being one win away fro the Super Bowl.

Over in the AFC, its all about the safeties. Tom Zbikowski is glad he stuck with football full-time rather than worry about boxing as he has the Ravens in the championship game.

Baltimore will face New England, who's Notre Dame rep is Sergio Brown.

The Super Bowl is February 5th in Indianapolis and can be seen on Channel 16.
