Notre Dame fans were eager to hear prominent names like Dick Vitale speak at Friday night's pep rally at library quad.
Many thought the rain would hold fans back, but by 6 pm, the crowd was in full force.
Fans showed support for star player, linebacker Manti Te'o, by wearing Hawaiin leis. Fans will wear the leis to Saturday's game too, to thank Te'o for his dedication to the Irish. Te'o lost his grandmother and girlfriend both last week, but announced he would play this weekend through the heartache. Fans wanted to do something special to say thanks.
Party stores throughout the area said they are already sold out of the Hawaiian party favors, and said they sold like crazy throughout the week.
